Nursing and Feeding Essentials for New Moms (What I Added to My Baby Registry)

As I started building my baby registry, I knew I wanted to prepare for both breastfeeding and pumping. While every mom’s feeding journey looks different, having the right products ready is essential.

I focused on items that support nursing, pumping, and bottle feeding, since many families end up using a mix of all three. Below are the feeding essentials I personally added to my baby registry to help make feeding time easier and more comfortable for both baby and mom.

Breastfeeding Essentials Every New Mom Should Have

These are items that help make nursing more comfortable and manageable, especially during the early weeks while you and your baby are learning together.

Breastfeeding Support Essentials

Boppy Nursing Pillow

A supportive nursing pillow helps position baby properly during feedings and prevents arm and shoulder strain during longer nursing sessions.

Milk Collection & Pumping Essentials

Even if you plan to breastfeed, many moms find pumping helpful for building a small milk stash or allowing someone else to help with feedings.

Boon Trove Silicone Milk Collector

During nursing sessions, it’s common for the opposite breast to leak milk – and this collector helps capture that milk instead of letting it go to waste.

Why I added this to my registry:

  • Soft silicone design fits comfortably inside a bra
  • Suction base helps prevent accidental spills
  • Easy to clean and reuse

This is a great way to build a small milk stash naturally while breastfeeding.

Breast Pump

Many insurance plans will cover the cost of a breast pump. I applied through Babylist Health using my insurance and was approved. After researching different options, I decided on the Momcozy M5 All-In-One Double Breast Pump for its wearable, hands-free design that makes pumping easier throughout the day.

If you’re insurance doesn’t cover this product, you can order the exact some Momcozy M5 All-In-One Double Breast Pump, here.

Milk Storage Bags

These make it easy to safely store pumped milk in the fridge or freezer. This was also provided by my insurance which are the Sprucely Milk Storage Bags.

Stackable Storage Drawers

This is perfect for storing bottles, pump parts, and other baby items so everything is easy to find during busy feeding times.

Bottle Feeding Essentials

Even when breastfeeding, having bottles ready can be helpful for pumped milk or occasional bottle feeds.

Evenflo Feeding Bottle

These bottles are designed to reduct excess air intake during feeding, which can help minimize gas and discomfort for newborns. I added them to my registry because they are an affordable and widely recommended option. The nipple shake is designed to mimic the feel of breastfeeding, helping babies transition more easily between breast and bottle.

I added both, Evenflo Premium Proflo 4oz and Evenflo Premium Proflo 5oz on my Amazon Baby Registry.

Momcozy Bottle Warmer

This bottle warmer quickly heats breast milk or formula to a safe temperature. I added it to make nighttime feedings easier and faster.

Grownsy Bottle Sterilizer & Dryer

The Grownsy Bottle Sterilizer and Dryer is one of the most practical feeding items I added to my baby registry. Newborn immune systems are still developing, so properly sterilizing bottles, pump parts, and pacifiers is important during those early months.

Instead of boiling bottles daily, this machine simplifies the entire process by sterilizing and drying everything in one cycle.

Why I added this to my registry:

  • Sterilizes bottles, pacifiers, and pump parts quickly using steam
  • Built-in-drying function prevents moisture and bacteria buildup
  • Large capacity fits multiple bottles at once
  • Saves time compared to traditional boiling methods
  • Keeps feeding supplies clean and ready for the next feeding

For parents planning to bottle feed, pump, or combination feed, a sterilizer can make daily routines much easier.

Organic Burp Cloths

Burp cloths are a newborn essential I know we’ll use daily during feeding and spit-ups. I added these organic burp cloths to my baby registry because they’re soft, absorbent, and gentle on baby’s skin.

Other moms recommended getting A LOT of burp cloths so I added 2, 6-packs of the Organic Burp Cloths by KeaBabies

Travel Nursing Essentials

Whether you’re traveling, running errands, or simply away from home for a few hours, having the right portable nursing tools can make feeding your baby much easier. I added a few travel-friendly essentials to my registry so I can pump, store milk, and feed on the go without stress. These items help make nursing outside the house more convenient while keeping everything clean, organized, and ready when baby needs it.

Momcozy Portable Bottle Warmer

This portable bottle warmer is designed for parents who need to warm breast milk or formula while traveling or away from home. Instead of searing for a microwave or hot water, this warmer makes it easy to heat a bottle wherever you are.

Why I added it to my registry:

  • Heats breast milk or formula while traveling, in the car, or on outings
  • Rechargeable or portable, making it perfect for diaper bags and trips
  • Helps keep feeding routines consistent even when you’re away from home

Momcozy Portable Breast Milk Cooler

When you’re pumping on the go, having a reliable way to safely store milk is essential. This portable breast milk cooler keeps pumped milk cold for hours, making it ideal for travel, errands, or long days away from home.

Why I added it to my registry:

Feeding Essentials for When Baby Gets Older

While newborns start with milk, I also added a few items that will be useful once baby begins solids.

Momcozy High Chair

Although babies won’t start solids right away, I added the Momcozy DinerPal High Chair to my registry so we’re ready for that next stage of feeding.

I loved this high chair because it blends functionality with a clean, modern design that fits well into most homes.

Why I chose this high chair

  • Stable wooden leg design provides strong support
  • removable tray makes feeding and cleanup easier
  • Comfortable seating designed for growing babies
  • Neutral design fits seamlessly into home decor
  • Easy to wipe down after messy meals

A good high chair becomes a daily essential once babies start solids, so it felt like a smart item to include early.

Baby Plates

Baby plates are designed with suction bottoms or divided sections to help keep food in place. They make self-feeding less messy and help babies learn to explore different foods.

Baby Bowls

Baby bowls are perfect for serving purees, oatmeal, and small meals once solids are introduced. Many are designed with suction bases to prevent tipping.

Baby Silverware

Soft, baby-friendly utensils help little ones practice feeding themselves. They’re designed with small handles and gentle materials that are safe for developing gums.

Sippy Cups

Sippy cups help babies transition from bottles to independent drinking. They’re designed to minimize spills while helping babies learn how to drink from a cup.
